We will understand active and passive voice with examples because many students ask for examples for active and passive voice. So don’t worry we will discussing all things with all the tenses. Active and Passive Voice with examples:-

Active voice- In active voice, the subject of the sentence does the action.

For example :

She completes the work.
She is the subject, and it’s clear she is the one who is completing her work.
     
Passive voice- In passive voice, the object of the action is made into the subject of the sentence.

For example:
  • She completes the work. ( active voice )
  • The work is completed by her. ( passive voice )


  • Aap yeh toh samjh gaye honge ki active and passive voice ka matlab kya hai and kaise likhte hai basically yeh bass abhi start huya hai. Now we will learn active and passive voice for all the tenses like simple present , simple past etc..and how to use it. I will also cover examples for active and passive voice. So lets start with the simple present first.

A. Simple Present ( Active and passive voice with examples )

  • She completes the work. ( active  voice )
  • The work is completed by her.( passive voice )



As I discussed above in introduction of active and passive voice how does it change or how the sentence is formed. Just you have to have knowledge about the form of tense or syntax of the all tenses and its form then it will be nothing for you to learn active and passive voice.

Now lets discussed some more examples :

Interrogative sentence in simple present :-

  • Do you know me?
  • Am I known to you? 
  • Do you eat pizza ?
  • Is pizza eaten by you? ( here pizza is singular that’s why Is use kiya humne. Same in above )

  • *** object ke respect me change hota hai.

 B. Simple Past ( Active and passive voice with examples )




  • I submitted the report.
  • The report was submitted by me.


  • Did you watch a movie yesterday?
  • Was a movie watched by you yesterday?
  • Did you call me?
  • Was I called by you?


 C. Present continuous and Past continuous

Present continuous
Past continuous
She is writing a letter for her friend.
A letter is being written by her for her friend.
They were singing a song.
A song was being sung by them.
Is she preparing food?
Is food being prepared by her?
Was they singing a song?
Was a song was being sung by them?


 D. Present Perfect ( Active and passive voice with examples )

  • Somebody has stolen the chair.
  • The chair has been stolen by somebody.


Syntax :

[ O + has/have + been + v3 + by + S ]


Interrogative sentence of present perfect: 

  • Has she booked the tickets?
  • Have the tickets been booked by her ?


E. Past Perfect. ( Active and passive voice with examples )




  • She had not call me.
  • I had not been called by her.


F. Simple future ( Active and passive voice with examples )




  • They will plant the trees.
  • The trees will be planted by them ?


  • Will they plant the trees?
  • Will the trees be planted by them?


G. Future perfect ( Active and passive voice with examples )

  • They will have earned the profit by that time.
  • The profit will have been earned by them by that time.

When did you watch the movie.
When the movie was watched by you?

Who wrote the book?
By whom the book was written?

Where do you take lunch?
Where lunch is taken by you?
